Polish Goalkeeper Cautioned against Catholicism
August 26th, 2006
First read this. Then tell me: am I missing something? I mean, generally speaking I fall on the side against the Catholic Church, but in this case I don’t think I even understand the problem–and until further clarity is shed on the situation I am definately siding with the Church.
How could crossing yourself be provocative?

Rangers and Celtic are two majorly sectarian clubs. Rangers are protestant with a strong loyalist/right wing support, while Celtic is catholic with a huge Irish nationalist support. Any religious gestures during their meetings is considered provocative and, by and large, with good reason.

Hmmmmm…interesting.
I have to admit I didn’t believe a logical explanation existed for this one, but that would do it. Thanks sir!
